Jeep Brand Market Performance

Jeep brand June sales are reported to be up by 23%, with the Wrangler recording its third all-time monthly sales record during the last 12 months with 14,461 units sold, an improvement of 28% over the previous year. The best seller Cherokee sold 12,506 units which is its best June sales in the last seven years, and a of 39% increase over the previous year. The Jeep Liberty recorded its best month this year with sales up by 50% over the previous year, and its best June record since 2007. Some quarters attribute the Wrangler’s popularity to its being the only remaining American utility vehicle with a manual transmission. The Grand Cherokee on the other hand is a consistent top performer in “Car of the Year” competitions. New cool look.
This is the 6th month in a row that the Jeep brand has reported sales increases for the year. January sales were up by 37%, February by 30%, March by 34%, April by 19% and May by 24% compared with the same months a year ago.
Jeep brand sales worldwide grew up by 41% and 44% in the U.S. in 2011. The highest growth were registered in Europe, where sales have grown by 124% in Germany, by 117.6% in Italy, by 71.7% in France, by 21.2% in Spain and by 18% in the UK. It should be noted that the increased sales in Spain and the UK were recorded while the two countries were experiencing economic difficulties.
